KMSDP evolved as an outgrowth of several programs over a series of years. Initial, involvement of KMSDP grew out of and educational assistance program through St. John Fisher College wherein Kenyan citizens were supported and educated in the American University setting. The purpose of this program was to provide. Kenyan’s with an American education and knowledge of how a Democracy should work.

After graduaton, students returned to Kenya. Educational and medical facilities were identified, and the process of sending medical, educational and nursing materials, equipment, books and supplies began. In addition to providing supplies and equipment, some facilities were renovated and built.
