What We Do

KMSDP in partnership with American Friends of Kenya (AFK) offers free health camps at one of the KMS program facilities where eye exams, blood pressure testing, blood sugar screening, height weight evaluations and consultations with American Healthcare specialists are conducted. In 2008, four hundred residents of the Utawala area participated in one such program.

KMSDP supplies over 75 healthcare facilities in the greater Nairobi area with medical equipment and supplies at no cost to the facilities.

The KMSDP process is a six step process which is continuous and ongoing.
Assessment of Needs
An Assessment is conducted by a healthcare professional from the United States.
Collect Supplies and Equipment
Supplies and equipment are donated or purchased from various medical warehouses, companies, individuals and hospitals in the United States.
Ship Supplies and Equipment
Forty foot containers are packed and shipped via the port of Mumbasa to our warehouse in Embakasi.
Sort and Distribute Medical Equipment
The container is unloaded, sorted and distributed to the various healthcare facilities.
Evaluate and Reassess
An evaluation and reassessment is performed to identify additional needs of each facility
Conference
An annual conference is held in Nairobi for all program members.
